Dear members

With the cooler days and nights here, the weather has certainly stabilised somewhat.

Cooler weather does slow down the growth of the turf and does leave some additional divots in the fairways and the practice areas. The maintenance team is always trying to repair these areas as best they can but any assistance in replacing divots and repairing ball marks would be appreciated at this time of the year.

 In recent times there has been some concern from the maintenance team that many members are crossing the putting surfaces with pull buggies and motorised walking buggies. Whilst in a limited capacity there is no real concern with this however we do ask members that chose to do this that they MUST NOT PARK THE CARTS ON THE PUTTING SURFACES. We ask members to consider the ramifications of parking pull buggies or walk behind buggies on the putting surfaces can be damaging to the putting surfaces.  

 On Sunday August 3 the Sunshine Coast Marathon is being held in our area and the roads will be closed until 10;45 am. The golf course and clubhouse will also be closed until 11 am on this day. We are holding an event called TEE to SEA on this day with a 12-noon shot gun start (due to the closures) the event has been supported by our local councillor. Many members and visitors have supported this event which is fantastic, and I am sure it will be a huge success. There are still spots available so please contact the administration office if you would like to join in on the fun.

On a sad note, Twin Waters Golf Club member JJ Graham passed away suddenly last week.

 JJ was a member for 9 years and will be sadly missed. We pass on our deepest condolences to his family.

GOLF CONNECT is coming soon.

On October 2, 2025, Golf Australia will be transferring all “Golflink” operations to a new system called golf connect.

Whilst we all anticipate a smooth transition there is always some slight issues as nobody likes change!!! From September 29 – October 10 all clubs have been recommended that any event played should not be handicapped as there will be no access to the new or old system. We will make some changes to our fixtures (changes will be in the next newsletter) and during this period we will either have some novelty events or social play will be the only option for members tee times.

One of our sister clubs in South Australia, Glenelg Golf Club has issued some changes to the sister club rates during the 2026 LIV golf event being held in Adelaide. If members are planning to use this sister club arrangement during this period, they should contact the administration office. Members might also consider booking in advance as the course will be extremely busy. Members may also consider a small bank loan if they are wishing to pay the new adjusted fees!!
